Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping is a results based fitness program for participants of any age, lifestyle, sex or athletic ability.   In 45 minutes a day, six days a week, Farrell’s can help you make real changes in your fitness and overall health.  Tammie Collier is the owner of the local Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping franchise.

Tell us a little about your business. – We offer a 10 week session consisting of kickboxing and strength training classes combined with nutrition education in an effort to help our members lose fat and inches while building lean muscle.  At the end of each session we also give $1000 away to the person with the most change in that 10 week period!   We have two Lincoln locations:  2755 Jamie Lane and 4400 Lucile Drive (76th and Pioneers).

How did you get started in the business? – I started as a 10 week member myself!   I loved the program and the results I saw people of all shapes and sizes get from doing Farrell’s! We say ‘real results, for real people’ and we really mean it!  Plus, the community of support at Farrell’s is unlike any other I’ve ever seen.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Opening a new business and getting your name out in a community where you are an ‘unknown’ is always a challenge.   For us, I also think our name intimidates people a bit – they hear ‘extreme’ and think there must be no way they could do that!  Which is far from the truth – we’re a fitness facility with all ages, shapes and sizes of clients!  We’re a community of people just trying to stay healthy and better themselves!

Tell us a little about your family. – I’m in the midst of the busy mom craziness.  My son is a freshman in high school and very active in sports.  My daughter is in 7th grade and simply cannot get enough of dance.  So we’re constantly on the go!

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – First, starting a family and second, leaving corporate America!   Starting my own business was the scariest and yet most rewarding thing I’d ever done.   Looking back it was a great decision but I’m not going to lie, it was a bit nerve racking!

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Relax or go shopping with my girlfriends!

What are you the most proud of? – My kiddos!  They’re growing up to be independent, confident young people.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – Follow your heart, but take your brain with you!

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – I’m not sure I need a super power, but a crystal ball would be nice!

Which talent would you most like to have? – Oh, if only I could sing!  I didn’t start out with any natural talent, but teaching kickboxing classes over the years has certainly taken a toll on the vocal chords (and yes, I have a mic!).

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – A sommelier!

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Meg Ryan.
