After attending Xenon International Academy in Omaha to become a licensed stylist, Aubrey Roberts moved back to her hometown of Lincoln where she began working at a salon. Recently, she made the move to Eve a Salon & Spa near 48th and Pioneers. Aubrey enjoys doing all aspects of hair and also offers facial waxing services. She has been in the industry for almost five years and loves learning new things. She is also an educator for All-Nutrient Hair Color and is certified in She by SOCAP hair extensions.

Tell us a little about your family. – I grew up here in Lincoln and am lucky that my family all lives here still as well. I only have one sibling, a sister, and two nieces. Being an aunt is so incredible and I love spending time with my nieces any chance I get!

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – One of the biggest turning points in my life has definitely been recently when I decided to become an independent stylist. It was an incredibly tough decision to make and has been so rewarding ever since.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – My favorite thing to do on my day off is probably either hanging out with friends or just simply staying home with my boyfriend and our pets.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I am a pretty average person, I would say something semi-interesting is that I was named after a song by Bread called Aubrey.

What are you the most proud of? – Where I am in life right now. I am 25 years old and I honestly couldn’t be any happier.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – Over the years I have received amazing advice from my clients, family, and friends and can’t just narrow it down to one thing.

How would your friends describe you? – I think my friends would describe me as fun and caring and probably pretty goofy at times. I like to make people laugh and not take life too seriously.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – I am great at whistling and sometimes I even do it while I work.

Which talent would you most like to have? – To play an instrument, preferably piano.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? – My incredible skills of procrastination. I always put things off to the very last minute and it would be great to save myself some stress at times.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. It is a book I read this past summer and I could honestly read it again and again.

What is your favorite movie? – 10 Things I Hate About You.

What is your favorite TV show? – I am a reality junky sadly to say, so my favorites are all of the Real Housewives and then I also love Project Runway and I record Ellen every day.

What is your favorite Lincoln restaurant? – My favorite Lincoln restaurant is Skymart, located in energy square downtown Lincoln. They have great burgers and wraps. It’s also owned by my Dad. :)
