Gary Novotny, president of Gary Michaels Clothiers in Lincoln, recently announced that former Nebraska football star Ameer Abdullah has entered into a marketing and promotion agreement with the store. Abdullah will appear on various media resources across the state of Nebraska beginning in March of 2015. He will join a number of other athletes that have had previous endorsements with Gary Michaels over the past 32 years–the most recent have been Alex Gordon, Joba Chamberlain, Ndamukong Suh, and Prince Amukamara.
During his football career at the University of Nebraska, Abdullah became the second all-time rusher in the storied school’s history. A finalist for the Doak Walker, Paul Horning, Pop Warner and Wuerfel Trophy awards, he earned Second Team All-American and Big Ten honors. Abdullah was a Nebraska’s team captain and 2014 MVP, as well as Lifter of the Year and Academic All-Big Ten. He was also selected the top Senior CLASS award winner in the country and ended up the MVP in this year’s Senior Bowl.
