Tabitha (www.Tabitha.org), your answer for Elder Care, and Lincoln’s Gateway Sertoma Club joined forces earlier this month to welcome more than 220 friends and supporters at HiMark Golf Course to play for a cause. Proceeds from the 13th annual golf event brought in more than $60,000 in support of Tabitha Meals on Wheels.

In true tournament style, the event featured a four-person scramble, hole games, prizes and the event’s traditional media challenge, where the Channel 8 KLKN-TV team claimed the coveted media trophy.

Proceeds from the event will help provide meals for more than 550 individuals each day through Tabitha Meals on Wheels. Seventy percent of program recipients are unable to afford the $5.75 cost of a meal. As Tabitha has made a point to turn away no one in need from a meal, contributions like those from Gateway Sertoma are instrumental in keeping the program viable and available.

Gateway Sertoma was founded as a service club over 50 years ago. The group’s mission is “service to mankind” motivating members to volunteer service and fundraising for community programs in need. To learn more, visit gatewaysertoma.org.

As a non-profit organization serving 28 Nebraska counties, Tabitha’s love embraces a society where everyone is valued and empowered to live life to the fullest, with compassionate at-home support, innovative living communities, exceptional rehabilitation, health care and hospice services.
