At an 11 a.m. ceremony on June 13th, over 100 people joined Lt. Governor Rick Sheehy, City of Lincoln Urban Development Director Dave Landis, and City Impact staff and volunteers to break ground for City Impact Homes, a $4.6 million dollar project at 33rd & Overland Trail in Lincoln.

Three years in the making, City Impact Homes is a collaboration of private and public resources to build 14 units of affordable housing for working families whose goals are eventual homeownership.

On three acres of land nestled between Peter Pan Park and Overland Trail and between 31st & 33rd Streets, City Impact Homes will feature six duplex-style townhomes and two single family homes, one of which will be fully handicapped accessible. The site will also be home to the new City Impact Center.

Construction will begin shortly with an estimated completion date of April 2013 at which time lease up will start. City Impact Homes is expected to be 100% occupied by October 2013.

Excel Development Group will manage City Impact Homes and is currently accepting pre-applications. Pre-applications are available upon request at (402) 434-3344 or (800) 378-9366 or at the City Impact office, 400 North 27th Street.
