Americans for Prosperity Nebraska (www.americansforprosperity.org) state director Matt Litt recently released the organization’s 2015 legislative scorecard. The scorecard compiled the voting records of each state senator based on the 10 bills AFP identified as “key votes” this session.

“While the 2015 legislative session had its notable disappointments on fiscal issues, primarily the decision by the Unicameral to override Gov. Ricketts’ veto to increase the gas tax, there was also some progress made. For example, we saw expanded access to care through greater autonomy for nurse practitioners and we are beginning to reduce the growth of state spending. Americans for Prosperity’s scorecard is a fair, objective overview of each state senator’s voting record as it pertains to our organization’s mission to expand opportunities for Nebraskans to achieve their version of the Good Life through economic freedom,” said Litt.

There are twelve state senators who earned AFP’s ‘Champion of Freedom’ designation by scoring an ‘A’ grade or higher on the scorecard. Those senators include: Joni Craighead, Laura Ebke, Mike Groene, Bill Kintner, Tyson Larson, Beau McCoy, John Murante, David Schnoor, Dan Watermeier, Lydia Brasch, Tommy Garrett, and Merv Riepe.

Unfortunately for Nebraskans there were 18 senators who received a failing ‘F’ grade on AFP’s scorecard. Those senators include: Roy Baker, Kate Bolz, Kathy Campbell, Ernie Chambers, Tanya Cook, Sue Crawford, Mike Gloor, Ken Haar, Matt Hansen, Burke Harr, Sara Howard, Bob Krist, John McCollister, Heath Mello, Adam Morfeld, Jeremy Nordquist, Patty Pansing Brooks and Paul Schumacher.
