A ribbon held between a gasoline-powered van and one converted to run on natural gas was ceremoniously cut today at Black Hills Energy’s Lincoln service center. Black Hills provides natural gas service in Lincoln.

The ribbon cutting and an open house were held to recognize the first fleet vehicle in Lincoln converted to run on natural gas in recent times and to symbolize the transition from gasoline powered fleet vehicles to those powered by compressed natural gas. The event also provided the public officials, community leaders and public and private fleet operators in and around Lincoln who attended information about the benefits of natural gas as a vehicle fuel.

Eric’s Electric of Lincoln owns both vehicles, which are part of its service fleet. Black Hills worked with Eric’s Electric to help facilitate the conversion of the 2010 Chevrolet Express van to run on compressed natural gas.  for more information about Eric’s Electric email Eric Hoke at hoke0920@aol.com.

Black Hills is promoting the use of natural gas vehicles and compressed natural gas to fleet customers across its service territories, including in Nebraska.
