New Downtown Burger Pub Offers Fresh Ingredients and a Relaxed Atmosphere

Dempsey’s Restaurant and Pub recently opened downtown on 228 N. 12th Street.  The décor is simple and clean.  Small Irish accents and three huge murals highlight the regional craft breweries.  Dempsey’s wants you to relax, play a game of pool, have a nice beer, and enjoy a gourmet burger made with fresh ingredients.

“Dempsey’s Burger Pub takes pride in supporting local farmers by providing the freshest local ingredients when available.”  Dempsey’s offers hormone and antibiotic free Kobe beef, fresh mixed greens, and the best homemade sauces around.  Some other highlights of Dempsey’s menu include:

*Hot Hawaiian Kobe Burger – $11 – pineapple jalapeno chutney, applewood bacon, bibb lettuce, spicy sriracha aioli, on a pretzel bun.

*Salmon Burger/Salad – $11 – the salmon is fresh and delicious. Get it traditional burger style or on a salad with dried cranberries, toasted walnuts, and maytag blue cheese.

*Sweet Potato Fries – $1.5/3 – seasoned sweet or salty and served with one of the many delicious Dempsey’s sauces.  I recommend the “Old Bay & Tomato Coulis Aioili”

Goodcents Downtown Gearing Up to Celebrate Their 1st Anniversary!

Lincoln favorite, Goodcents Deli, is getting ready to celebrate 1 year in downtown Lincoln.  DLA recently caught up with Goodcents’ owner Jeff Barclay for a quick Q&A.
DLA : What attracted you to locating in Downtown Lincoln?

JB: Great foot traffic. It’s an awesome location and the downtown Lincoln community is growing so much we wanted to bring one of Lincoln’s great staples into the growing mix.
DLA: What makes Goodcents unique compared to other dining venues?

JB: Goodcents is ridiculously friendly; you will never feel unwelcome in our restaurant.  We take pride in our service, quality ingredients, hand sliced meats and fresh bread. Our subs are larger, price competitive, and our drink machines offer over 150 different drink flavors.

DLA: What would you say the atmosphere is like?

JB: Welcoming, clean and trendy. It’s a great set-up inside our shop; you don’t feel like you are at a generic fast food restaurant.

DLA: Where can people stay up-to-date with Goodcents’ promotions and specials?

JB: Join our e-mail club: goodcentssubs.com/whats-fresh/e-club or follow us on Facebook and Twitter

DLA: Anything else you would like to share about Goodcents?

JB: Starting 8/26 we will be having 66 days of $2.99 8” subs as we countdown to our 1-year anniversary. We also have a great event space downtown. Our 14th & P location is the perfect spot to host an event, from tailgates to corporate luncheons. We partner with Venue Restaurant & Lounge to bring you years of catering experience, excellent service and budget friendly dishes.
