Nebraska Hearing Center, conveniently located at 5620 O Street, Suite 104, offers the resources and the latest technology; to improve and protect your hearing. Sheri Robertson is the Office Manager and Insurance Consultant at Nebraska Hearing Center.

Tell us a little about your business. – Nebraska Hearing Center is where better hearing begins.  Locally owned by Audiologist Leslie Frank, Nebraska Hearing Center has been serving Lincoln for over 40 years.

How did you get started in the business? – I have worked in the health insurance industry for 28 years. Roles include Group Underwriter, Group Sales, Group Sales Manager, Medicare Sales Manager, and Broker. These roles have given me a great understanding of working with clients, management, how rates are developed and health benefits.  That knowledge has transitioned well into Nebraska Hearing Center, as we now accept insurance plans.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – The Affordable Care Act changes the healthcare landscape on almost a daily basis.  It is interesting to see the trends that have taken place over the last 30 years.  Fortunately, I see challenges as opportunities.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – I enjoy educating and assisting others with decisions, which fits in well with our goal at Nebraska Hearing Center.

Tell us a little about your family. – My dear hubby and I will celebrate 22 years of marriage this year.  God gave us the most awesome 14-year-old daughter on the planet.  We also have a dog and a cat.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – There are just too many turning points to pinpoint one.  Life is a journey and I’m enjoying the ride.  You plan for the worst and hope for the best; and somehow it all works out.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Golf.  Enjoy family and friends.  Live.  I am not very good at relaxing.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I love everything that is college football.  When bowl season is over, I go into a mild depression.  The sports page just isn’t as much fun.  Thank goodness for baseball season to get me through to fall.

What are you the most proud of? – My upbringing.  I love how my parents taught me to be honest and to stand up for what is right.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – Three pieces of advice:  1) Be you; 2) Do it right the first time; 3) Have fun.  If you aren’t having fun, you need to do something else.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – Bon Jovi’s “It’s My Life” or “Livin’ on a Prayer.”

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Time travel.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – I would love to be a pro golfer, but work gets in the way of my golf game.

What is your favorite book? – Being George Washington.  That book gave me an appreciation for what the Patriots did for us and how important freedom was to them.

What is your favorite movie? – It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Patty’s Pub or The Oven
