Magdalena Axtell is the local Field Marketing Manager for Noodles & Company.

Tell us a little about your business. – Noodles & Company is a fast casual dining restaurant that offers the world’s favorite noodle dishes, sandwiches, salads and soups. Our dishes are inspired by creativity and cultural heritage of cuisines from around the globe. Whether you’re looking for a place to dine, gluten free options, healthier menu or indulgent choices, catering or to pick up dinner to take home; Noodles & Co. has it all. We currently operate six locations, three in Omaha and three in Lincoln.

What led you to your current position with Noodles & Co? – It was, and still is, a regular dining place for my husband and me. We enjoyed their food and always received great service. When I saw a position open in Marketing, I knew I had to apply. With my previous experience in the restaurant field and my education background in Communications and Marketing, I felt that this was the right career choice for me. Since being hired by the company, I feel like I’ve joined a very large family where we work together to achieve business, and personal goals.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – I consider everything I have done a professional achievement. Graduating university with a background in Communications and Sociology; followed by grad school for Marketing Management then for Corporate Communications. Following my dream to obtain a job in the industry led me to become a Field Marketing Manager for a company that has encouraged my growth and creativity. I have joined various social originations to assist in my future development, and currently hold a positon on the PRSA Nebraska Board of Directors as the PDC/MDC Chair. Each of the steps I have taken directed me to a new opportunity and a challenge that sooner or later turned into a personal or a professional achievement.

What local non-profit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – I enjoy being involved and giving back to the community. There are many organizations in our community with powerful messages of strength, love and unity. One of the things I love about Noodles & Company is their support of non-profit organizations and their encouragement for me to be involved. Together, we have worked to fundraise about $20,000 annually for various non-profits in our community that include The American Heart Association, The Diabetes Association, Cedars, Open Door Mission, and Susan. G. Komen. Also we give various donations to our local schools and participate as vendors supporting local events such as the Lincoln Heart Walk or Light the Night with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Tell us a little about your family. – I am married to a wonderful husband, Dustin, and he is a Systems Architect. We have a cute dog, Linux, who enjoys daylong naps, car rides and playing fetch.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I was born in Poland but spent most of my life growing up in Canada. Being in the States for only a couple years, most people tell me I speak Canadian English. When I say it ‘costs a toonie’ or ‘I need to get my toque,’ people look at me like I am crazy, but I swear those are real English words!

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Really? Do I need to answer that? I’m heading to Noodles & Co.!
