Tell us a little about your business. – Gateway prides itself on convenience and customer service so we are committed to servicing the loans we originate along with offering in-house processing and underwriting.

How did you get started in the business? – My husband and I moved to Nebraska with the Air Force in 2005.  Prior to loan originating, I was a real estate agent for over six years in Mountain Home, Idaho.  I was approached by the listing agent on the home we purchased there and was offered a position at Century 21.   I loved it, but decided to go a different route into mortgage lending with our move to Papillion.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – My biggest challenge was figuring out how to brand myself and Gateway Mortgage.  I have been an Ambassador for the Sarpy County Chamber for over a year, a member of the OABR, and involved in several networking groups.  I love meeting new people and try to get involved with the community as much as I can.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – I started out in the mortgage industry as a loan officer assistant.  In 2012 I decided to branch out on my own and have not regretted it for a minute.  It was the best decision I could have made.

Tell us a little about your family. – I’ve been married to my husband Brian for over 22 years and have one son, Jordon, who is 20 years old.  He currently attends Southeast Community College in Lincoln studying Computer Aided Drafting, and is employed with Schnackel Engineering.  My husband is a Senior Master Sergeant in the Air Force and plans on retiring next year.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Meeting my husband and beginning my careers as a military spouse and mom.  Moving to Europe at a young age and starting a family taught us how to be stronger and more independent.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I have a bucket list.  I want to sky dive, fly in a glider, ride in a hot air balloon, and hang glide just to name a few….

What are you the most proud of? – I could give a long drawn out answer or go a few different directions with this.  But at the end of the day, I am so proud of my son.  To be 20 years old, focused, and setting future goals for himself; I could not be any prouder.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – If you walk into a situation with a reasonable expectation, you won’t be disappointed.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Business owner (Bar/Restaurant).

What is your favorite movie? – Star Wars movies.  I can’t wait for the new one! I know, I’m a nerd.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Blue Sushi Sake Grill.
