Eight years ago, Kevin Rife lost his job and had to find something to pay the bills.  He started mowing yards and he found that his customers were mostly older and on fixed incomes.  Some of them began asking if he could help them clean a room, paint and repair things and that’s when he and his wife Julien realized they could start a cleaning company.  Morita Cleaning Services is a family business that now specializing in cleaning commercial kitchens, restaurants and offices.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – The commercial cleaning market here in Lincoln is very challenging with all the competition.  Being a young business has been tough at times.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Being able to acquire our own contracts and become established.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Getting married to my wife Julien.  She has been very instrumental in refocusing my life.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – We go see a movie and have dinner somewhere.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I was born in the back of a 1960 Station Wagon.  My parents were at a drive-in movie watching Sands of Iwo Jima with John Wayne.  When he was killed in the movie, my mother went into labor.

What are you the most proud of? – Our son Julius Timothy Yorac.  He served four years in the Air Force and is currently employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital as a CNA and is attending Kaplan University.  He will graduate in May 2013 with a Nursing degree.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – If you are going to do a job, give 100%.  Take pride in what you do and see the job through to the end (from my father).  That’s how I try to live my life.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – See into the future.

Which talent would you most like to have? – To be an artist/photographer.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Owner of a bed & breakfast.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – Alex Cross novels.

What is your favorite movie? – Remember the Titans.

What is your favorite TV show? – NCIS.

What is your favorite Lincoln restaurant? – Fuji Sushi & Grille.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Winston Churchill.
