Tell us a little about your job. – John Henry’s is not a typical plumbing, heating and air conditioning business. We are very progressive and have “too much fun!” We always go that extra mile and our office hours are something we did for our customers by being open 7 days a week from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm without overtime, plus true 24-hour service is available. Customer service is our #1 goal.

How did you get started in the business? – In high school I worked at HyVee and met Lindsey Zohner, who also worked there. It was love at first sight. Her parents owned John Henrys and asked me to apply. As a result, I was hired and learned the business from the ground up. After graduating from a four-year plumbing school, I received my Journeyman Plumbing License and shortly after that my Masters Plumbing License, plus some additional licenses.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Changing the perception of others about the plumbing trade. It’s a great paying, honest trade that has a lot of technical challenges at so many different levels. I believe there is dignity in all professions and it’s up to us individually to set the example.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Establishing a challenging career at an early age. I love what I do.

Tell us a little about your family. – I have been married to my lovely wife Lindsey for just over 6 years. We have a great life with two incredible sons; Declan, who is 2, and Brantley, who is 10 months old. They are a huge blessing!

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Spending time with family and friends, golfing, and officiating football.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I enjoy officiating football games at various levels. My dad and I have worked together as referees for 11 years.

What are you the most proud of? – My entire life. It’s been a good run. My family, friends, and career mean a lot to me.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – Work hard and always try to reach that next level. Never give up!

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Honest.
