inMOTION Auto Care, located at 131 Russwood Parkway (84th & ‘O’ Street), is a full service automotive and light truck repair facility. Jared McPike is the co-owner of inMOTION Auto Care.

Tell us a little about your business. – inMOTION offers automotive care and maintenance services, from simple oil changes to engine replacements and everything in between. We pride ourselves on our diagnostic work. A lot of times people bring us cars that have already been to other shops and our team is able to accurately diagnose and fix the problem.

How did you get started in the business? – When I graduated from high school I decided that before going to college I’d learn various trades. I got a job working on cars at Rahn’s Amoco.  It was a small gas and service station where they let me fix tires and stuff like that. It’s closed now, but it was a great place to start out. I really enjoyed it and decided that would be my future career.  I transitioned to Russwood Auto Center and they gave me the opportunity to attend the automotive program at SCC, where I graduated at the top of my class. That’s also where I met Sherri Stock, my partner at inMOTION Auto Care.  We shared the same love of cars and people and wanted to continue to be able to serve them.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – To achieve my dream of co-owning my own shop.

Tell us a little about your family. – My wife Diana and I will be married for 10 years this month. I have two daughters, Lily and Kate, one dog – Lola and one cat – Walter.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – When I realized what I wanted to do in my professional career.  With the encouragement from my family, I was able to pursue that dream and be where I am today.  While I don’t work on cars as much as I used to, my love of cars is the reason why I’m a “lifer” in the industry.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I love to volunteer at my church, Christ’s Place, as a drummer on the worship team.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I have a shoe addiction; I love shoes and I love buying shoes.

What are you the most proud of? – I have a wonderful family and a beautiful wife.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – My Hero by Foo Fighters.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – That’s easy, a rock star.

What local non-profit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – Royal Family Kids Camp, Tiny Hands, and our shop supports the Lincoln Food Bank throughout the year.

What is your favorite movie? – Braveheart.

What is your favorite TV show? – Modern Family.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Sebastian’s Table.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Chad Smith, drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
