SequrComm is the result of the merger of Q Comm and SequrID, which was incorporated in August of 2013. Q Comm has been a part of the Lincoln community since 1993, bringing years of experience in communications and electronics. SequrID was established in 2010 and brings knowledge of security, data recovery and business continuity to this new venture.  Together, SequrComm is much more than an IT company; the company provides seamless integrations to advance technology and enhance the way their clients do business.  Greg Boggs is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of SequrComm.

Tell me a little about your business. – SequrComm is quickly becoming the go-to technology company for many Lincoln brands. We provide the expertise for businesses that may not be able to have an IT division, and telephony options to save companies time and money by utilizing VoIP. We can make sure businesses are physically secure so that employees feel safe, in addition to offering advanced audio/visual solutions including digital signage and displays with touch screen capabilities. SequrComm is also working diligently to advance the way Nebraska schools utilize technology.

How did you get started in the business? – After graduating with a mechanical agriculture degree, I set out to find a trade. At the time satellite communications seemed like the logical choice given my electronics and mechanics training for my degree. That industry moved into telecommunications and now everything is tech. I’ve just adapted and grown with it. I’ve always wanted to be the best (I’m a perfectionist) in the tech space.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – It’s definitely challenging to keep abreast of changes in the tech industry. Finding the best use of technology for our clients is almost a full time job in itself.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Starting my own business in 1993 and taking the steps to get my RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification.

Tell me a little about your family. – I’ve been married for over 32 years to my radiant wife Barbara, during which time we’ve lived in Lincoln. I’ve been blessed with two sons, Michael and Stephen, the latter of which is the Director of Business Development here at SequrComm.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Opening Q Comm and later merging with SequrID last August.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Absolutely nothing. A day off is a day to relax.

What are you the most proud of? – My family.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Don’t have a complaint unless you have a resolution.”

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Compassionate.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – The ability to fly.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Ministry.

What is your favorite movie? – The Final Countdown (many readers will probably have to Google that one).

What is your favorite TV show? – Person of Interest.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – The Bible.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Mulligans Grill & Pub.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Martin Luther.
