WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE IN A TELEVISION COMMERCIAL?

Imagine receiving a call from your bank. You might expect it to be about your account, to provide an update on your loan application, or to schedule an appointment to meet with your banker. Three Union Bank customers received a phone call in 2014, but were surprised to discover it wasn’t the usual business call. They were asked to tell their story in a television commercial.

Union Bank believes every customer has a story to tell; filled with determination, ups and downs, and achieving dreams. With tens of thousands of bank customers, all of them can’t be featured in lights, but a few can represent them.

Gabe Lovelace and Eric Hustad, cousins and owners of Ground Up Restaurants, started on wheels – with a food truck. The ideas were always big and they quickly turned into Honest Abe’s and Sebastian’s Table. In describing their experience on camera, Gabe said, “We had a fun time collaborating with other professionals, creating an accurate and fun story for our business.”

WHAT IF I TURNED AN IDEA INTO A CAREER

New business ideas really can start with a sketch on a napkin. That’s how Angela Lee began her concept for Sholdit, an innovative line of products that mix practicality with fashion. Angela said this about her TV commercial experience. “The professionalism yet fun heartedness carried over from our banking relationship right on into producing the TV commercial. Union Bank and Trust’s team went above and beyond to respect my time and my company. They really do mean it when they say ‘you belong here’ and I can’t agree more.”

A dream for the family; to have a farming operation that will grow into a family legacy is what Grant & Katie Quiring are building for their son Wyatt (and the other little one on the way). Katie commented on their time with the filming crew, “It was incredible to meet such a diverse group of people and all of us coming together for a common purpose. We definitely had the easy job, all we had to do was be honest and tell our story.”

Helping people achieve their dreams is at the core of Union Bank’s mission. They are diverse, unique and even amazing. So, what’s your dream? Maybe they can help.
