Located at 5740 Old Cheney Road, Herbs & More has been serving the Lincoln community for 19 years and counting. Longtime owner Arnold Freeman recently passed the torch on to the store’s new owners, Jethro Hopkins and Julie Boyd, who plan to continue the locally owned and operated store’s legacy of providing natural remedies, products, and supplements along with bringing in some new products and services too!
The staff at Herbs & More prides themselves on being knowledgeable and exceptional customer service is a priority; consultations on any of the products available in the store are always complimentary. Herbs & More is excited to now offer the services of in-house massage therapist Jade Lutes and esthetician Kate Meinders. Along with the new services, Herbs & More recently launched its newly redesigned website with a fresh, modern look as well as plenty of new features including access to current specials, newsletters, the Esthetician’s Menu and online booking for massage services.
As for products, while the store’s offerings originally included natural herbal, vitamin and mineral supplements, weight loss supplements and books, over the years its inventory has grown to include homeopathic remedies, massage therapy supplies, aromatherapy (essential oils) and accessories, natural beauty care products, herbal teas, natural household and cleaning products…and More!
What do you think makes you different from other business that are similar to yours? – We are happy to provide a one-on-one experience and we’ve tailored our offerings to help others in their pursuit of being naturally healthy.
What do you like about doing business in Lincoln? – We love the hometown feel; our customers are also our neighbors and friends.
Do you have a business philosophy or mission statement? – Our mission is to provide the purest essential oils and finest herbal supplements for the health and well-being of our families and community.
What changes have you seen in your industry over the past few years? – There has been a positive uptick in how people view herbal supplements and essential oils and their practical applications and benefits, specifically with respect to how they contribute to good health and overall wellness.
What do you see happening with the business in the next five years? – We are very optimistic that Herbs & More will continue to be successful and look forward to the opportunity for expansion in the future!
What is one of the biggest challenges your business has faced? – When we purchased the business, everyone was under the impression that it was closing for good. It has been challenging to get the word out that we are still open and always have been!
What has been your most important achievement as a business so far? – For us, it’s been seeing all of the positive feedback from our customers.
What has been the biggest turning point in your business? – Our open house that we hosted on June 6th was a great turning point for Herbs & More, as it really helped us to connect with current customers as well as the opportunity to bring in many new customers.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about your business that most people don’t know? – We carry a large variety of essential oils right here in the store, as well as the accessories to go with them!
What is one goal for your business that you have yet to accomplish? – We would really like to see Herbs & More become successful enough to support a second location in north Lincoln.
