Tell me a little about your family. - My husband Eric is awesome; he works at Oriental Trading Company so I guess you can say he sells fun! We’re super active in and around our community and though we’ve lived different places, we embrace each place and make it our own. We have big families back where we’re from, (Michigan and New York) but here in Omaha we have each other and two four legged fur children-Rufus and Jake.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – We tend to squeeze a ton into our days but my favorite would be to go down to Old Market, peek into some shops, stop at a couple restaurants and walk the new bridge. I love the Jackson Street Bookseller and Nouvelle Eve. Now that the farmer’s market opened, we’ll go every Saturday. We go to a lot of shows and enjoy the great venues here- Omaha is the best!
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? - I’m a graduate of the French Pastry School in Chicago, and on another note, my husband and I both attended Seaforth sailing school in San Diego and are certified to Captain up to a 45 foot craft in international waters. I’m a better First Mate though.
What are you the most proud of? - Back in 2001 my husband took a position with Land’s End that brought us to a small town that was historically preserved and we bought a historic bed and breakfast that is still one of Wisconsin’s oldest properties. We kept the stewardship of the property up while running the business. My husband had a fantastic “English” pub built to leave to the next generation, which the new owners are enjoying immensely.
What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish? – Personal: I want to learn how to surf. Professional: I have a top 10 list of companies that I hope to earn the business of.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? - I love the Doc Ford series by Randy Wayne White that take place around Sanibel Island in Florida.
What is your favorite movie? - Undoubtedly My Best Friend’s Wedding
What is your favorite TV show? - I was hooked on Sex and the City, Sopranos, and Curb Your Enthusiasm when they were hot.
What is your favorite local restaurant? - Oh boy! Mark’s, Dario’s, Dell, Pitch, Buvette, but really M’s Pub sold us on Omaha, so I guess M’s!
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? - Warren Buffet - for sure!
If our readers would like to contact you, how should they do so? - clk@solutiononenow.com
