Thanksgiving also recently marked the unofficial kickoff of the “unselfie” season. In the week following Thanksgiving, Americans focus on gift giving and extending a helping hand to others. Following “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday,” #GivingTuesday is a day set aside to think about the many gifts we have in our lives and allows us to show our gratitude by volunteering, serving others in need, and donating to worthy causes.

Once again the TeamMates Mentoring Program of Lincoln is participating in this holiday-inspired way to give back, along with the United Nations Foundation and more than 10,000 organizations that unite their giving efforts to make a positive impact in our lives, communities, country and the world.

The mission of TeamMates is to positively impact the world by inspiring youth to reach their full potential. A donation of any size will help the program continue the very important work of providing caring adult mentors to more than 1,100 children in need. TeamMates invites community business partners and individuals to participate in an “unselfie” giving event that begins on December 2nd and runs through the end of the year.
