Family members, colleagues of Lisa and Randy VerMaas, and friends of Kyle Joseph VerMaas are honoring his life by establishing an endowed scholarship in his memory. The merit-based scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating Pius X senior having a GPA of 3.5 or above, and planning to attend a 4-year college or university to pursue a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field of study.

Kyle passed away following a brief illness on March 16, 2014. A member of Pius X ’12 graduating class, Kyle was a second-year Biological Systems Engineering student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), where he was on the Dean’s List.

Assisting in establishing the endowed scholarship are friends and colleagues of Lisa and Randy VerMaas from Inpatient Physician Associates in Lincoln, and Cardiac Services at Bryan LGH Hospital.  If you would like donate to this scholarship or another existing scholarship, or establish a new endowed scholarship or endowed fund, please contact Michelle Birkel at the Pius X Foundation at (402) 488-1046.
