While the demand for blood is constant, Nebraska Community Blood Bank is facing a serious challenge in maintaining an adequate supply of Type O Negative blood to meet the needs of its hospital partners throughout southeast Nebraska. Due to existing patient needs and Standard Operating Procedures to assure an adequate supply of blood, Nebraska Community Blood Bank has issued a Critical Alert—Type O Negative Blood.

From accident victims to premature babies and those living with blood disorders, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs a blood transfusion. Eligible donors with a matching blood type are encouraged to schedule an appointment to give blood as soon as possible, and anyone interested in becoming a donor may contact the Nebraska Community Blood Bank for details. Thank you in advance to the generous donors who will roll up their sleeves to give blood to our neighbors, friends, and family members in need!

Since 1968 Nebraska Community Blood Bank has been committed to connecting people and saving lives. Nebraska Community Blood Bank supplies lifesaving blood to healthcare facilities in six counties throughout southeast Nebraska.
