LUX Center for the Arts presents “Bud, Branch, Berry,” an exhibition by local artist Margaret Berry sponsored by Berry Law Firm. This exhibition will have a First Friday opening reception on Friday, February 6 from 5:00 to 8:00pm.

The work of local artist Margaret Berry will be featured in the Folsom Gallery. Berry creates loose and colorful encaustics, an ancient art form that employs the use of wax in a painterly fashion. Her work and knowledge are both rare and valuable to many parts of the United States, including Nebraska. “Bud, Branch, Berry” will be on display through March 28.
Margaret Berry will also be teaching two encaustic workshops at LUX Center for the Arts, one on February 22 and the other on March 22. Both workshops will last from 1:00 to 4:00pm, cost is $80 for non-members and $64 for LUX members, those who sign up for both encaustic workshops save $20. On Sunday, February 22 students will use beeswax, resin and pigment as painting and collage mediums to create luminous layered effects.  Oh Sunday, March 22 students will use the same supplies to create dimension and mystery with photographs; attendants are urged to bring their own photographs if they wish.
