Two groups have each demonstrated their dedication to supporting victims of domestic violence by hosting golf tournaments benefiting Friendship Home year after year.

On June 5th, patients and friends of the Lincoln Orthopaedic Center (LOC) came together for the 9th Annual Ortho Open. This year, a record $13,500 was raised during the tournament. Over the course of nine years, LOC has donated over $78,000 to assist families who are leaving abusive situations.

An additional $4,265 was raised by dedicated volunteers at the 8th Annual Golf Tournament for Friendship Home on June 14th. 22 teams of golfers and friends enjoyed a day of golf while “Driving to Putt an End to Domestic Violence.” Golfers also donated around $500 in summer toys and school supplies for the children in Friendship Home shelters.

Many thanks to all golfers, volunteers and sponsors who participated in the tournaments and helped make them such a success.
