More than 200 children and their families ignored threatening skies and enjoyed hopping, skipping and jumping their way around Haymarket Park at the Hop, SCIP, Jump to the Golden Ticket event on June 6th.

The annual fundraiser benefitted School Community Intervention & Prevention (SCIP) (www.lmep.com/scip), a program of Lincoln Medical Education Partnership (LMEP).  SCIP works with schools throughout Nebraska by providing tools and resources to address behavioral health issues that impact children, adolescents and their families.

Children visited multiple booths from sponsors and local non-profits, participating in healthy activities. At the end of the course, each child chose a candy bar which included a gold, silver or bronze ticket for prizes. More than 200 prizes were given away including the Golden Ticket prize won by four year old Mariah Vandrovec. Mariah won a trip for a family of four to Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City, along with four Kansas City Royals tickets, a gas card and food gift cards.

The event grossed more than $10,000 thanks to a generous donation from title sponsor Nebraska Mental Health Centers. Other sponsors include Union Bank, Nelnet, Schmeeckle Research, Dr. Kaliprasad Ayala, Sam’s Clubs North & South, Aetna Better Health, Inspro Insurance and Bryan Health.
