The Third Annual One Day Without Shoes event, sponsored by Cornhusker Bank and The People’s City Mission, will take place on April 16th.  Both were inspired to start promoting this global event by Tom’s Shoes, who donate a pair of shoes to a child in need in a third-world country for every pair of Tom’s Shoes which are sold. This local event will include a fun-filled day of fundraising activities, featuring a group walk at 11 a.m. from the main Cornhusker Bank branch at 11th and Cornhusker to the People’s City Mission.  You can also bring a monetary donation or new and used shoe donations to any Cornhusker Bank location or the other fifty participating businesses during April 5th through the 19th.  These shoes are vital to someone whose sole form of transportation is their ability to walk.  You can find more information about this event, including drop-off locations for donations, at www.cornhuskerbank.com/day_without_shoes.htm.
