Lincoln Racquet Club, located at 5300 Old Cheney Rd., is proud to announce that they recently hosted “Savior Neighbor,” an event which provided the opportunity for attendees to participate in an American Red Cross blood drive and “Be the Match” bone marrow registry.  This event was held on February 15th, with blood drive donations being collected from over seventy donors.  “Be the Match” collected mouth swabs during the event from over twenty potential stem cell donors ages 18-44.

There was a dinner held afterwards to benefit “Be the Match,” which was set up by Becky Stewart, whose brother Mike Stewart of the American Legion in Hickman was diagnosed with—and beat—not one but two types of rare cancer.  Becky set up “Be the Match” in honor of those who helped with her brother’s victory against cancer, and to support the fight of countless others in our community.  There is also an account set up at First State Bank of Nebraska that will be accepting donations for those who were unable to attend the event.
