Homestead Rehabilitation Center—offering short-term therapy, long-term care, memory support, respite and discharge planning—held a groundbreaking on March 21st for Lincoln’s newest rehabilitation community at 4735 S. 54th Street. Homestead Rehabilitation Center will transform existing real estate on the southeast side of campus to build the new therapy community that will add 12 private resident rooms, a 2,100 square-foot rehabilitation gym with training kitchen, bath and bedroom.

Homestead engaged Architectural Design Associates, Cheever Construction and Design Works for this $2,300,000 project. Beginning this past December, construction is expected to complete in the summer of 2013 with a grand opening and ribbon cutting date to follow. Homestead will remain open to admissions taking special precautions to reduce noise and intrusion.

As the care provider in the 56th and Pioneer neighborhood since 1963, Homestead provides physical, occupational and speech therapy seven days a week, with a therapy assessment occurring within 24 hours of admission. In addition to providing therapy following surgery, Homestead Rehabilitation includes the specialized areas of Cardiac, Stroke and Orthopedics. Homestead is open for admissions seven days a week. Homestead is Medicare/Medicaid certified.
