The American Heart Association is proud to announce the 2014 Lincoln Heart Walk to be held at the Pinewood Bowl at Pioneers Park on Saturday, April 26 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The Heart Walk is a wellness event that encourages healthy lifestyle choices. Through the Heart Walk, the American Heart Association creates opportunities for people to improve their health by walking and simultaneously raise funds to help fight heart disease and stroke. Registration for this event is free and participants are encouraged to collect donations.   Walkers can ask others to support their walk effort by sponsoring them with a donation to the American Heart Association. Walkers can organize teams at the companies where they work or with family and friends.

The American Heart Association is the largest voluntary health organization working to prevent, treat and defeat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. These diseases, the Nation’s No.1 and No.4 killers, claim more than 813,804 American lives a year. Through awareness and fundraising at events like Go Red for Women, Heart Walk and Heart Ball, they are determined to improve the current outcomes.
