Bowlers are invited to sign up for the annual Junior Achievement (JA) Bowl-A-Thon to be held Saturday, February 19th at Hollywood Bowl and Parkway Lanes.  Registrations for five or six-person teams can be made by contacting the JA office at 467-4479.  Registration is $5 per bowler.  Each participant will be eligible to win hundreds of door prizes given away the day of the event in addition to prizes available for securing pledges above the required $45 minimum.

Funds raised at this event, which is sponsored by BryanLGH Medical Center and the Lincoln USBC Bowling Association, will provide fun, free business education to Lincoln-area students in grades kindergarten through 12th, both in public and private schools.  JA’s in-school programs focus on the “economics of life”—economic benefits of staying in school, career options, personal finance, how to operate a business, international trade, and economic decision making.

Junior Achievement has been in Lincoln for 40 years.  Since 1971, through business efforts in partnership with education, JA has educated and inspired local young people to value free enterprise, understand business and economics, and be workforce ready.  More than 600 volunteers will bring Junior Achievement’s programs to over 15,000 students this year in Lincoln-area elementary, middle, and high schools.
