Welcome to our 2013 Best Dressed/Look of Success issue! Our annual Strictly Business Best Dressed Soiree, held at Ramada Plaza Omaha, was a huge success and we are pleased to present this year’s winners who have also contributed their style secrets in our Look of Success feature.  Here is a sneak peak at the six men and women who topped our list as Best Dressed in Lincoln and their answers to our question:

What is the key to your Look of Success?

“There’s a lot to be said for simplicity in professional fashion, while incorporating a bit of uniqueness or your own identity.  I try not to overdo it, but instead focus on a nice balance.  I definitely look at seasonal trends, but prefer to bring those basic concepts together in my everyday professional fashion.”
 – Heath Stukenholtz, Tabitha,Your Answer To Elder Care

“A good suit is a must in any profession, and can be used on many other occasions.  Accessories, such as my current favorites the skinny tie and fun socks, really place your signature on an outfit.”
– Justin Cooksley, Venue

“I think a quote that best sums it up is ‘You can never be overdressed or overeducated!’  Also, it is important to remember that some of the best treasures in fashion are not found at large department stores.  It may not work for most, but impulsive buying can be really rewarding.  I love to walk into a store and coordinate an entire new outfit in less than an hour!”
-Jamie Peters, Health at Home Consultants

“I always utilize belts, scarves and shoes as an accent to pull my outfits together.  You can never have enough shoes…ever!  I also have a very good relationship with my drycleaner and tailor who take very good care of my clothing.”
– Mel Specht, Blue Cross Blue Shield

“I think it is really important to shop at stores that place value on great customer service, as well as having a great relationship with your tailor.  This will ensure you can always find what you need in the right sizes, styles and colors and that you are always looking impeccable in the clothes you have chosen to represent your sense of style.”
-TJ King, TJ King Designs

“I think it is incredibly important to shape your wardrobe around staples that work best for you.  When you combine these staples with some great statement pieces the possibilities for different looks become endless, and part of the fun of fashion is always changing things up!”
-Laurie Dunn, LIBA
