Smoking Gun Jerky’s mobile “Jerky Shack” will be out and about again beginning April 28th as the local Farmer’s Markets begin their seasons in the Lincoln area. The Old Cheney Farmer’s Market begins on Sundays at the 56th and Old Cheney Road location on this date. Watch for the “Shack” at many of the Lancaster Event Center activities, along with the Haymarket Farmer’s Market and the Fallbrook Farmer’s Market beginning in June.

With Smoking Gun Jerky’s three stores, located at 443 N. 48th Street, 56th & Old Cheney and 27th and Superior Streets, and the access to their mobile events, this locally-made jerky will be available to consumers throughout the city!

This new seminar series will feature in-depth discussions from noted experts on federal issues that impact business and job growth in Nebraska, and a keynote address from a leading authority in the field. The inaugural luncheon seminar was held in April and featured an informative review of energy policy from Karen Alderman Harbert, President and Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for 21st Century Energy.

EventLNK Networking Group Announces Launch Event

A new networking group, EventLNK, is being formed in Lincoln with membership opportunities available for event/meeting planners, coordinators and managers. Jill Smith, Event Coordinator at Union Bank, has partnered with other local planners from the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, University of Nebraska-Lincoln and The Perfect Occasion to establish and organize EventLNK. The initial organizing group began meeting in the fall of 2012, and recently held their Introduction Meeting, hosted by Top Shelf Beverage Services, in March.

Monthly member meetings will include site visits to various venues around Lincoln and presentations from vendors, suppliers and hospitality professionals. Meetings will also include a dedicated topic-driven discussion time where event professionals can brainstorm ideas and share experiences and resources with other members and industry experts.

The EventLNK launch has been scheduled for Monday, May 20th from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott, located at 808 R Street. Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development Hosts Annual Breakfast Event in Nebraska

Guests are invited to come hear about Lincoln’s competitive position in the global marketplace from this panel of experts who make recommendations to companies of all types and sizes. Five members of the Site Selectors Guild, a professional association of the world’s most respected site selection consultants, will be at the breakfast as a part of the roundtable to discuss the perceived advantages and disadvantages Lincoln and Nebraska face in the pursuit of quality jobs in our new economy that is recently being fueled by the Innovation Campus, the West Haymarket and Antelope Valley development projects.
