We recently had the opportunity to visit Minneapolis for the wedding of my sister, who chose a very unique ceremony by getting married in a hot air balloon! W

e were so excited to visit this city as I’ve always enjoyed my trips there in the past. The first order of business was choosing a hotel in which to stay. Our main concern was being close to the festivities, which all took place in downtown Minneapolis. As we searched through our choices, we found The Marquette, which offered the location as well as the amenities we’d been searching for in a hotel. Deluxe oversized guest rooms, superior service, and prime location make The Marquette Hotel a favorite amongst travelers. This jewel links guests to over 65 blocks of shops, restaurants, and entertainment via the skyway system. Guest rooms and suites each offer wireless high-speed Internet service, in-room safe, mini bar, and coffee/tea maker. Dining options include Basil’s restaurant, which offers a casual dining experience with a cont

emporary flair and serves a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu that features American cuisine from traditional to unique. Marq VII lounge is the hotel’s sophisticated and recently renovated lobby bar and lounge and features a new appetizer menu and daily drink specials. The new Windows on Minnesota located in the IDS Center offers premier meeting space and breath taking views 50 floors above downtown Minneapolis. Windows is the premiere meeting and event address of the Twin Cities, offering a great location, elegant service and spectacular cuisine. They can accommodate parties of 20 up to celebrations for 300.
We were very happy with our choice, especially when we found out how easy it was to get there from the airport. The hotel is only a couple of blocks from the train station and is, in fact, only a couple of blocks from everything we did during our stay.

Not only was the hotel easy to get to, but we found when we checked in that we were staying in the Executive Level Guest Rooms that ar

e located on the top five floors of the hotel (levels 14-19). These exclusive, secured access floors accommodate 115 richly furnished guest rooms and suites and offer a spectacular view of downtown Minneapolis. These guest rooms boast a widely enhanced list of special features including exclusive access to the Executive Lounge on the 19th floor, plush terry robes, amazing rain shower fixtures, hi-speed internet access, complimentary mineral water, complimentary access to the YMCA pool two blocks from the hotel and a granite upgrade in the foyer and bathroom. Our two favorite features were definitely the shower and the Executive Lounge. The Lounge featured an upgraded continental breakfast each morning and a cocktail reception each evening with free munchies and soft drinks and alcoholic beverages for purchase.
We were very impressed with our stay at The Marquette.
